About ADCET
Annasaheb Dange College of Engineering & Technology, (ADCET) Ashta, Sangli is one of the foremost Technical and Autonomous Institutes in Western Maharashtra distinguished by its commitment to improve the human life standards through advanced science and technology. Established in the year 1999, under the aegis of “Sant Dnyaneshwar Shikshan Sanstha’s” which is founded by the great visionary and ex-minister for rural development, Maharashtra state, Hon. Shri. Annasaheb Dange. The college is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. ADCET campus occupies 30 Acers of land in the heart of the city of Ashta, Sangli. At present it has 7 UG and 2 PG courses where nearly 3000 students receive focused technical education. The Institute is accredited by NAAC with “A” grade and ISO certified. All the programmes in ADCET are NBA accredited. The college maintains close interaction with several R&D institutions and collaborates with premium industries.
About Organising Departments
The Program in Computer Science and Engineering has been
introduced from the academic year 2000-2001 with a sanctioned intake of 60,
and today realizing ever increasing demand of IT professionals, the
department has increased its intake to 120 from 2019-2020. The department
got NBA accreditation in the year 2017 and it is re-accredited in 2020 for 3
more years till 2023. The department has highly qualified and dedicated
faculty members and it is well-known for its high academic standard, wellmaintained discipline, state-of-the art infrastructure facilities and assured
placement in Top Level software companies from IT industry. The Department
has maintained a good rapport with industries and R & D organizations.
The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication (ETC) was
established in the year 1999 with a sanctioned intake of 60 along with the
establishment of institute. With an emphasis on Telecommunication sector by
the then government and the global technological development carried out at
that time by the researchers in the developed countries for reliable and fast
communication, the institute took an initiative to commence the UG program in
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. The department has a good
blend of experienced and young faculty which works as a team to strengthen
the department.
Electrical Engineering Program was introduced at ADCET, Ashta in the
academic year 2004-05, with the sanctioned intake of 60 seats. Considering
the demand for electrical engineering in industries, state electricity board and
private sectors engaged in electricity generation, the sanctioned intake has
been increased to 120 seats from academic year 2016-17. The Post Graduate
programme in Electrical Power Systems is introduced from academic year
2011-12 with sanctioned intake of 18 seats. The department has received a
grant of Rs. 8.5 Lakh in 2010–11, 7.5 Lakh in 2012-13 and 15.05 Lakh in
2020-21 for modernization of High Voltage Engineering Laboratory, Power
System Laboratory, and Research Laboratory respectively from AICTEMODROB. Proud to mention that the department has produced 3 Gold
Medalist students in all branches of engineering in Shivaji University in
distinguished years.
